Westchester County, New York

Westchester County is located near New York City, Long Island Sound, Putnam County, Connecticut, and Rockland County. It covers 450 square miles and has a population of approximately 950,000. Population of 68,334 and home to over 98 nationalities. Named after a plantation in Virginia where George Washington spent his final years (nearby Wakefield is named after the plantation where George Washington was born). As part of the New York State Unified Court System, Mount Vernon has three full-time elected judges who serve for ten years and one appointed part-time associate judge who serves for eight years. The Mount Vernon Court handles all felony criminal cases, misdemeanor cases, civil proceedings with a value of up to $15,000, landlord tenant cases originating in the city of Mount Vernon, small claims cases, and all vehicle and traffic law matters.

White Plains

Population of 66,020. The downtown area is a large suburban shopping district and contains several branches of famous New York based department and specialty stores. Stores. The Southern District of New York Court was opened in White Plains in 1998. Colleges and Universities located in White Plains include Fordham's Graduate Schools of Business Administration, Education, Social Service, and Religious and Religious Education; Pace University School of Law and Pace Graduate School; Berkeley College, Mercy College, and The College of Westchester.

Yonkers

Population of 176,600 and fourth most populated city in the State of New York, after New York City, Buffalo, and Rochester. It borders Manhattan and the Bronx. Its residents are known as Yonkersonian or Yonkersite. The Hudson River Museum, the Sherwood House, Beczak Environmental Education Center, Science Barge, Cross County Shopping Center, Yonkers Raceway (harness racing track), and Edward J. Murray Skating Center are all located in Yonkers. Mass transit to and from Yonkers includes the Metro-North Railroad, Amtrak, Bee-Line Bus System, MTA Bus express route to Manhattan. Yonkers is a twin city to Ternopil in Ukraine.
